JOB SUMMARY CARE Tanzania in collaboration with VETA implement the Tajirika na Kilimo project which is funded by CARE Norway aimed at supporting youth and job seekers to develop enhanced agricultural, market driven skills and knowledge for improved employability, income generation and resilience. The Tajirika na Kilimo Project is designed to strengthen the quality of training and enterprise development opportunities that address agriculture needs for Tanzania’s rural communities—particularly women and girls. 2,600 trainees will complete training. The three outcome areas are: Increased number of people complete documented and transferable TVET training; improved linkage between businesses and TVET institute; TVET institutional development. Prioritizing Women’s Economic Empowerment and youth employment, the four-year project will strengthen rural communities’ engagement in the development of Tanzania’s agriculture sector, through strengthened enterprise development, skills, and business linkages
CARE International is seeking a Youth and Community Engagement Officer who will be responsible in implementing the assigned program initiative activities. S/he will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be an experienced professional with considerable knowledge and experience in community engagement and youth advocacy. The incumbent is expected to maintain effective working relationships with other staff working with other CARE program initiatives and impact groups, key government partners and NGOs working in the same geographic area. Generally as Youth and community engagement officer, s/he will provide important support role that links “Tajirika na Kilimo” project initiative with the rural communit.

The Youth and Community Engagement Officer reports directly to the Program Coordinator. S/he is expected to maintain effective working relationships with other CARE staff members.
