Baylor College of Medicine
Children’s Foundation – Tanzania is a non-government organization (NGO)
dedicated to supporting the provision of high-quality, comprehensive
HIV/AIDS care and treatment to HIV – exposed and infected children and
adolescents in the Lake and Southern Highlands Zones of Tanzania. Baylor
Tanzania is affiliated with Baylor International Pediatric AIDS
Initiative (BIPAI) Network which is headquartered at Baylor College of
Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA. Baylor-Tanzania is funded by the United
State Agency for International Development (USAID), working to support
the Government of Tanzania through Ministry of Health, Community
Development, Gender, Elderly and Children to improve provision of
services for children and adolescent infected and living with HIV in the
Lake and Southern Highland Zones.
Under a new partnership, Baylor College of Medicine intends to implement a new program “Comprehensive community-based ART strategies to support adolescent living with HIV and their families in Njombe region” .
The program will be jointly implemented by Njombe Regional Office,
UNICEF Tanzania and Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation
Tanzania. This project intends to expand the scope of ART services
approaches from facility-based care for HIV services and expands the
scope to community in supporting the government efforts in reaching its
goals for the HSHSP IV to support the MOH in strengthening
community-based services for adolescents living with HIV.

– Tanzania is looking for a highly motivated, well-qualified individual
to join its growing program team in the following vacant position:
Post: Adolescent Field Coordinator
Location: Njombe Region
Reports to: Njombe Regional Medical Officer and Baylor-Tanzania Zonal Program Manager SHZ
Position Summary:
To oversee project implementation, manage resources, information and plan meetings and project activities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the community-based ART portfolio in Njombe region in collaboration with UNICEF, implementing partners and other key stakeholders
- Ensure implementation of community-based ART adheres to the approved protocols, SOPs
- Plan and roll out ART-related training to Health Care providers
- Train and technically supervise the Peer Educators (PE)on demand creation
- Coordinate with the SBCC team at district level on the development and roll out of the PE orientation package on community ART demand creation
- In collaboration with SAUTI Kizazi Kipya facilitate the identification of platforms for community-based ART delivery
- Develop linkages between community ART service delivery points and relevant Care and treatment Clinics (CTCs)
- In collaboration with the implementing partner, establish and oversee ARV medications flow from the facility to the Community ART platforms
- Establish and monitor data management/reporting flow for Community Based ART monitoring
- Monitor the ART adherence, retention and viral load through regular clinical files review
- Prepare monthly and quarterly project reports
- Promote and support the dissemination of project best practices and lessons learned among the project team, key stakeholders (R/CHMT , UNICEF partners) local partners (CSOs)

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor degree in Nursing, Advanced Diploma in Nursing, Public Health will be an advantage.
- At least 3 years relevant experience.
- Previous experience in managing HIV projects.
- Experience in at least one of the technical areas: Provision of Antiretroviral Therapy, DSDMs, Youth and Adolescent work, Case Management, Bi-Directional Reference, ECD, Child protection.
