AJIRA TANZANIA / NAFASI ZA KAZI
Background/IRC Summary
The International Rescue Committee responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers help to people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future. IRC is currently working in Tanzania providing non-pharmacological mental health and psychosocial support services as one among many other services. These Terms of Reference relate to substance dependence training including a component of providing care to clients struggling with substance misuse and dependence which has a greater effect not only to themselves but to their families and the society as a whole. Issues around child protection related to child neglect and abuse have been connected to Substance dependence/misuse, similarly many Gender based violence incidences like rape and intimate partner violence can be traced down to similar causes.
