Overview
The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science & Technology (NM-AIST) invites applications from suitably qualified and competent Tanzanian applicants to fill the following vacant posts: 

ASSISTANT LECTURER – (1 post)
Required Qualifications
Holder of a Master degree in a specialized functional area with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and Minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the First Degree with a Minimum score of B+ in the Relevant Subject or its equivalent. 

Duties:
Undergo an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before; Prepare and present case studies; Conduct and publish/disseminate research results; Participate in consultancies and community services under supervision; Attend workshops, conferences, and symposia; and perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities.

(i) SCHOOL OF BUSINESS STUDIES & HUMANITIES (BuSH)
  • Intellectual property-1 post.
  • Salary Scale: PUTS 2.1

LECTURERS – (6 Posts)
Required Qualifications
A holder of a Ph.D. in a specialized functional area, with a Masters’ Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5, and a Minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the First degree with Minimum scores of B+ in Relevant Subjects or its equivalent. 

Duties:
Undertake an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before; Carry out lectures and practical for Postgraduate programmes; Mentor junior staff in relevant fields; Participate/contribute in curriculum development; Participate in developing and managing various Institutional activities; Undertake research and publish/disseminate results; Carry out consultancy and community services; write teaching manuals and compendia; supervise field practical, Masters and PhD dissertations/ theses; attend/organize workshops, conferences and symposia; and perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities. 

Areas of Specialization:
The Six (6) posts mentioned above are in the following Schools and areas of specialization:
SCHOOL OF MATERIALS, ENERGY, WATER & ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES (MEWES)
  • Energy/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (renewable energy, power generation, smart grids, materials, nuclear science) -1 post.
  • Hydrology and Water resources (hydrogeology, hydrology, climate studies) -1 post.
SCHOOL OF COMPUTATIONAL AND COMMUNICATION SCIENCES & ENGINEERING (CoCSE)
  • Information systems/lnformation Technology/Informatics/Computer science/Software Engineering/Computer Engineering or related field -1 post
  • Applied Mathematics (financial mathematics, statistical & Stochastical, optimization methods, mathematical modeling, Bio- Mathematics) -1
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS STUDIES & HUMANITIES (BuSH)
  • Business Administration & Management -1 post.
  • Salary Scale: PUTS 3.3
