Overview
Big Cat (SC) Ltd. are the proprietors of Safari Manager (“SM”), a cloud-based enterprise management software that has been developed specifically to service the Tanzanian tourism industry. Wild Things (Tz) Ltd is an established Tanzania based tourism company with the exclusive mandate to provide sales, support, and training for the SM software in Tanzania.  

Opportunity
Big Cat is looking to engage an independent Application Systems Administrator to support the SM software in Tanzania. The position is based in Usa River, Arusha, Tanzania.
The System Administrator will be contracted on a full-time independent consultancy basis from the Usa River offices and will report directly to the proprietors. 

Top 4 Primary KPI for the Systems Administrator
1. Ensure all customers are captivated by their Safari Manager experience
2. Ensure all first-time system configurations are done right, first time
3. Ensure all customer training results in 100% of first-time users adopting the system completely
4. Ensure all first-level technical queries are addressed within 12 hrs 

Principal functions of the System Administrator
To fully and competently manage the system administration of all SM user sites. The ideal candidate will design, organize, and modify the company’s computer systems. This individual will evaluate and assess systems to ensure they are operating effectively. Based on assessments, this individual will harness collected knowledge and make adjustments to existing systems. 

Responsibilities
  • Maintain system efficiency
  • Ensure system design allows all components to work together properly
  • Make recommendations for upgrades and developments
  • Evaluate and modify system performance

In more detail the System Administrator’s primary role will be:
➢ System Configuration:
  • To ensure all customer installation are deployed efficiently
  • To enter all customer configurations are completed efficiently and as per the agreed specifications
  • To ensure any additional changes to configurations are agreed, implemented and where required, invoiced
  • To ensure all existing SM users are migrated efficiently to the new SM platform

➢ Training:
  • To ensure all new customer training is conducted professionally and efficiently
  • To ensure training costs remain within the prescribed budget
  • To ensure that 100% of new users adopt the SM system as their primary operating software
  • To identify and promote follow on modules to existing customers
  • To identify and promote additional training revenues

➢ Technical Support:
  • To ensure all first-level technical queries are resolved to customer satisfaction within 12 hrs
  • To ensure all second-level technical queries are escalated to relevant technical support team
  • To follow up and ensure all technical queries are addressed to customers satisfaction
  • To provide continuous feedback to assist development team plan future iterations of the software
In these endeavors, the System Administrator will be assisted by the proprietors and other business support staff 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Academic:
Relevant recognised IT qualifications

Work Experience:
  • Must have 5 years of IT Application System Administration experience in Tanzania (network/operating system sysadmin not required)
  • Must have 5 years of multi-software installation, administration and configuration experience on 3rd party sites
  • Must have customer support experience Skills:
  • Must have fluent written and spoken English
  • Must demonstrate exceptional inter-personnel skills
  • Must demonstrate patience and the ability to explain processes in a clear and concise manner
  • Must be able to work independently with limited micromanagement
  • Coding experience an advantage
