Role overview

The employee will provide gender mainstreaming and proactive technical support. Also you will be responsible for gender mainstreaming and proactive technical support to VSO staff and partners. You will be providing team guidance and technical capacity to the project teams through orientations, operational plans, daily interaction, regular team meetings, learning and reflection events to implement effectively and efficiently (gender) inclusion in VSO. You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with local partner organizations, key government departments and any relevant local or international organizations. If you are passionate about making a positive change to gender equality and leaving no social groups behind, you are the ideal candidate!

Skills, qualifications and experience
Qualifications: Bachelor degree in women/gender studies, education, social science, economics, sociology or equivalent studies.
• Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in development and/or humanitarian organizations, including significant experience of working with partners to deliver development interventions and/or humanitarian program with gender and youth focus.
• Affinity with and preferably expertise in gender issues in developing countries;
• Affinity with issues of social inclusion and exclusion in community;
• Ability to communicate with different stakeholders on different levels within organisations;
• Relevant experience in the development and implementation of gender analysis and mainstreaming.
