The Resettlement Support Center (CWS RSC Africa) operates a US refugee
resettlement program in sub-Saharan Africa through a Cooperative
Agreement with the Department of State/Bureau of Population, Refugees
and Migration. CWS RSC Africa is responsible for the preparation of
refugee case files for adjudication by US Citizenship and Immigration
Services (USCIS) officers, as well as the out-processing and cultural
orientation of all approved cases. CWS RSC Africa is administered by the
Church World Service Immigration Refugee Program (CWS/IRP) and is based
in Nairobi, Kenya.

Primary Purpose: CWS will work in Nyarugusu Refugee camp to help increase sustainable access to nutritious food and income for both women and men through Sustainable Vegetable Farming (SVF) for Food and Nutrition Security Project for a period of three years. We aim to increase production of highly nutritious African Leafy Vegetables (seasonal and perennial) through provision of technical knowledge for production of vegetables and storage of seeds, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and training on nutrition and hygiene.

CWS is looking for a Project Manager whose overall responsibility is for the coordination of CWS Sustainable Vegetable Farming (SVF) for Food and Nutrition Security Project in Nyarugusu Refugee Camp. This will involve planning implementation, regular monitoring and reporting. The position will provide technical support to the project beneficiaries in good agricultural practices, sustainable vegetable farming, IPM, Nutrition seed bank development for tropical vegetables; training of Lead Farmers as well as learning exchange visits. The incumbent for this position will ensure humanitarian standards and procedures are followed during implementation of the project. The position is also responsible for maintaining key relationships with the Camp Management, Government departments, sector agencies working in the camp and in the region and other related sector players.
