We work in more than 20 countries around the world, supporting the independent media essential to democracy and development. Each year, our projects and programmes reach 130 million people facing poverty, inequality and insecurity with information they can trust, helping to improve health, bridge divides, challenge prejudice, and save and change lives. We follow the editorial standards and values of the BBC, but we rely on funding from donors and partners to carry out our work.

Job purpose:
The senior producer will lead the production of media outputs that will focus on a range of issues including good governance, climate change and gender equality. S/he will ensure the outputs reach the highest editorial and professional standards in line with BBC editorial policy and production guidelines. The senior producer will be responsible for the creative direction, ensuring that episodes are engaging, informative and able to influence uptake of positive behaviours in audiences.

The senior producer will be expected to lead the development of ideas for pilot content (radio and social media) to be pretested with sample audiences during the project’s inception phase. S/he will also be expected to play a key role in the development of new partnerships with radio stations, and to engage regularly with staff at the stations once those relationships are established. The senior producer will have to work closely with colleagues in research and learning, to ensure insights from research studies are used properly to guide the development and production of the project’s multimedia content.
