Lead Psychotherapist at TAHMEF December, 2023
Tanzania Health and Medical Education Foundation (TAHMEF) is a HealthTech non-profit organization leveraging digital solutions to bridge socio-economic gaps that limit quality healthcare accessibility in Tanzania. Our work has served youth, Tanzanians in informal sectors, the rural-poor and indigenous communities since 2015, promoting health equity through hybrid digital provision of therapy, health education, health screening and supporting enrollment into affordable health coverage schemes.

LEAD PSYCHOTHERAPIST (Full Time, Dar es Salaam)
Qualifications:

• A minimum Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
• Valid license or certification as a Psychotherapist.
• Proven experience in psychotherapy, with a focus on youth mental health.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong empathy and cultural sensitivity.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care principles.

• Individual and Group therapy facilitation: Conduct effective group therapy sessions for diverse audiences.
• Crisis intervention: Skillfully handle crisis situations with a focus on client well-being.
• Cultural competency: Navigate diverse cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and respect.
• Assessment and intervention: Conduct thorough mental health assessments and design personalized interventions.
• Record-keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and progress notes.
• Community engagement: Actively engage with local communities to raise awareness about mental health.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based approaches.for AHADI users.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of mental health programs.
• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and design personalized interventions.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive mental health support.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and progress notes.
• Actively engage with local communities to raise awareness about mental health.
• Collaborate with tech teams for app enhancements.
• Provide expertise in mental health awareness campaigns.
• Mentor and guide junior therapists.
• Embrace an agile mindset for versatile task engagement.
