Position: Head of Collections
Currently, we are in search of a head of collections to work in our company in Tanzania

Role Description

The Head of Collections will be responsible for managing the collections department and ensuring the enforcement of company policies and procedures. This is a contract role located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and the Head of Collections will be working on-site. The Head of Collections will be required to work with other departments or teams to manage clients’ receivables and implement strategies that will improve debt recovery performance and achieve the business’s financial objectives.

Qualifications
  • Debt Collection, Collections Management, and Analytical Skills
  • Team Management and Finance Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a collections team
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field ∙ Experience in debt collection, preferably in a financial services industry, is a plus

Operations Manager

Our ideal candidate:
  • Proficiency in English at least upper intermediate level.
  • Willingness to relocate to Tanzania.
  • Deep understanding of collection processes (creating a strategy for managing problematic loans using technical collection tools, communication with IT teams, and external contractors for integration of technical solutions).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Clear understanding of the microfinance sector, PDL/installment product, and business management specifics.
  • Successful experience in retail lending (microfinance institution or banking sector).
  • Excellent business development skills and organizational strategy building.
  • High level of responsibility and self-organization.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Experience in team development and motivation.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to defend the business position.

  • Managing day-to-day customer service operations

  • Builds strong relationships while acting as a liaison between the customer and the corporate office

  • Collaborates with other departments to achieve organizational goals

Position: Phone Verification/Underwriting Supervisor
Role Description
This is a contract Phone Verification/Underwriting Supervisor role located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. As a Phone Verification/Underwriting Supervisor, your main responsibility will be to supervise the phone verification process and underwriting functions, performing comprehensive quality assurance on both processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. You’ll be responsible for the coordination, monitoring, and management of the team to ensure that processes are compliant with policies and procedures. You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the achievement of the group’s objectives and ensure operational standards are met.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • At least three years’ experience in underwriting or phone verification processes
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
  • Excellent knowledge of underwriting principles, credit policies, and eligibility criteria, as well as phone verification procedures and quality assurance processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Experience working in the financial services industry is preferred
  • Experience with relevant software applications, such as CRMs, loan management systems, and underwriting platforms, is preferred
