BESIX Ballast Nedam (BBN) Limited, the CONTRACTOR for the Engineering, procurement and Construction of the Jetty and Load Out Facilities in the Tanga Bay for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project, invites application for Senior Welding & Painting Inspector.

Job Type Full Time

Responsibilities:
  • Establishment of Preliminary WPS, PQR, WPS and Inspection Test Plan to suite Project requirements.
  • Qualifying of welders as per project requirements for Onshore/Off-shore facilities
  • Verification of inward raw materials, prefabricated materials, Painting/coating materials &welding/Painting/coating/Field joint coating/wrapping materials
  • Implementation of welding parameters check as per approved procedure specifications on production welds.
  • Controlling the welding inspectors and co-ordinates with TPI & NDT contractors.
  • Interpretation of Radiography films as per project specifications.
  • Preparation welding/painting/coating inspection reports and reports reviewing.
  • Preparation of hydro test final packages.
  • Checking/witnessing of hydrostatic/pneumatic testing.
  • Involvement in pre-commissioning activities like final reinstates/ Mechanical clearances of the Risers, Piping, Surge vessels. Storage Tanks and offshore and onshore pipe lines.
  • Preparation of final dossiers for submitting to client/end users.
  • Having Bachelor degree with 15 years’ experience in QA/QC Welding/Painting inspection, Material Inspection & NDT inspections for various materials such as Ferrous, Non-Ferrous, Alloys, Non-Metallic materials, Valves, Actuators, Flanges, Fasteners, Fittings, Gaskets, etc., at various onshore and offshore Projects.
  • Fully knowledge with Preparing/ Reviewing of Procedure Qualification Records, Welding procedure specifications, Inspection and Test Plans, Review of radiographs for Refineries, Petrochemical projects, Pressure Vessels & storage tanks, Offshore Pipelines/Riser Installations, Cross-country pipelines and Oil & Gas projects.
  • Well knowledge with offshore Jacket installation like Welding inspection on Jacket legs, conductors and Topside installations.
  • Coordinate pre and PWHT activities and provide required pre and PWHT documentation.
  • Knowledge with Offshore/onshore field joint FE coating Inspection and subsea riser clamps FBE painting Inspection
  • Experienced in Painting/PU Coating Inspection on buried pipes/surge vessels /Off-shore Riser clamps / above ground pipe spools and reviewing the painting/coating documents for the same.
  • Well Experience with Interpretation of Radiographs for Off-shore and Onshore crosscountry pipe lines and piping as per the approved procedures and the relevant international acceptance codes.
  • Implementation/verification of ISO quality management system.
  • Preparation& Witness the project welding procedures qualifications, welder performance qualifications and Mechanical and destructive tests.
  • Incoming material inspection such as Raw materials, prefabricated materials and welding /Painting consumables& Review of material certificates/batch certificates to check compliance with project specifications, expiry dates and meeting the required mechanical /physical /chemical composition values.
  • Experienced in Training of the welders for correct usage of welding parameters & consumables as per approved welding procedure specifications.
  • Control and witnessing for the NDT tests and Maintaining the minimum weld repair rates.
  • Ensuring specified product delivery to suite project specifications.
  • Experienced in Heat Shrink Sleeves/Joint coating Inspection and Holiday detection with SPY detector for offshore pipelines and riser connections at below splash zone.
  • Conducting the internal auditing / preparing audit reports and send to clients/owners.
  • Experienced in various Nondestructive inspection techniques in accordance with ASME Sec V like Visual inspection, Ultrasonic inspection, Radiographic inspection, Dye Penetrant inspection, Magnetic Particle inspection, Pressure test with Air, water, Oil, Nitrogen, Helium, etc., as test medium. Hardness test, Hammer test (to find wall thinning of smallbore piping), Vacuum box test, MFL (Magnetic Flux Leakage) and Internal
  • Videoscope/Baroscopic inspection

  • Graduated from Engineering Faculty
  • Speak and Write English fluently
  • CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector certification
  • AMPP/NACE or BGas CSWIP Painting Inspection Grade 3.2 or 2 certification
  • ISO 9712 NDT Level II Certification
  • API 510 in-service vessel inspection certification
  • ISO 9001:2015 – Quality management systems Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification
