Mechanical Technician
Mechanical Technician at Alliance Mechanical & Fabrication Engineering Limited
JOB TITLE: Mechanical TechnicianREPORTING TO: Engineering Department.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF MECHANICAL ENGINEER
✓ To support the mechanical team by ensuring efficient scheduling, planning, and coordination of mechanical activities. Responsible for maintaining accurate records, monitoring work orders, and ensuring compliance with mechanical standards and procedures.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in preparing and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance plans to optimize equipment performance.
• Maintain detailed records of designs, test result and technical finds.
• Monitor and ensure the availability of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment according to operational requirements.
• Design and develop technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications for mechanical systems using CAD software.
• Optimize manufacturing process for cost-efficiency, safety, and product quality.
• Coordinate mechanical meetings, prepare reports, and ensure documentation is updated as required.
• Assist in sourcing spare parts and liaising with vendors for mechanical-related procurement.
• Support the maintenance team in handling emergency repairs and breakdowns efficiently.
• Create plans, models, and blueprints for mechanical devices or systems.
• Use engineering principles and software to conduct stress, load, and thermal analysis.
• Coordinate tasks, manage project schedules and monitor progress.
• Perform clerical duties and administrative support for the maintenance department.
• Handle inquiries via phone calls and email related to mechanical requests and work orders.
• Assist in tracking equipment performance and scheduling inspections as per maintenance guidelines.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the superior to support mechanical operations.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
• Technical drawing expert.
• Candidates with knowledge in Auto CAD/Solid Work/MATLAP/Proteus Arduino and CNC laser cutting operation will be added advantage.
• Computer proficiency is must, especially in mechanical software.
• Diploma / Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum experience: 6 months in mechanical engineering or related roles
• Trainable and Honest
ATTRIBUTE OF THE PERSON:
▪ Proactive & Eager to Learn.
▪ Fluent in both English and Kiswahili
▪ Basic mechanical ability to perform maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment.
▪ Proficiency in maintaining & repair electrical system on industrial system.
