Plumber Job Description
Job Summary
A Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This includes water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and related appliances and fixtures. The role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and code compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Install and repair plumbing systems, including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, and dishwashers
• Read and interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials
• Inspect plumbing systems and identify issues such as leaks, blockages, or faulty components
• Cut, assemble, and install pipes and fittings using hand and power tools
• Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems using pressure gauges and other equipment
• Maintain and repair domestic appliances and fixtures
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations
• Collaborate with contractors and other tradespeople on construction or renovation projects
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used
• Provide estimates and recommendations to clients

• Proven experience as a plumber or completion of a plumbing apprenticeship
• Strong knowledge of water distribution and disposal systems
• Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams
• Proficiency with plumbing tools and equipment (e.g., pipe cutters, wrenches, plungers)
• Good physical condition and ability to work in confined spaces
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
• Valid plumbing license or certification (as required by local regulations)
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with HVAC systems or gas line installation
• Veta diploma or vocational training in plumbing
