Finance Manager
Finance Manager at Highland Estates Ltd September 2025
Job Title: Finance Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania 
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (functional), Chief Operating Officer / General Manager (administrative)
Role Profile 
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance function across all subsidiaries and business units. This role is pivotal in driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and enabling sustainable growth through data-driven decisionmaking.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Translate business goals into financial strategies that drive growth and operational efficiency
  • Develop financial dashboards and performance scorecards for leadership
  • Lead scenario modeling, investment appraisals, and cost-benefit analyses
Accounting Operations Oversight
  • Supervise accurate posting of financial transactions across ERP systems
  • Oversee monthly and year-end close processes, bank reconciliations, and ledger integrity
  • Monitor accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely settlements
Financial Planning & Reporting
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning aligned with strategic goals
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts and performance dashboards
  • Manage cash flow planning and capital allocation for investment opportunities
Tax & Statutory Compliance
  • Ensure timely filing of VAT, WHT, PAYE, SDL, and other statutory returns
  • Supervise NSSF, NHIF, WCF submissions and maintain audit-ready documentation
  • Liaise with TRA for audits, remissions, and tax adjustments
Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor and supervise finance team members including Assistant Manager, Junior Officers, and Trainees
  • Foster a culture of excellence, ownership, and collaboration
  • Lead capacity-building initiatives and promote cross-functional alignment
Governance & Controls
  • Implement internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure financial accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and audit requirements Review and approve financial documentation and statutory submissions

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred
  • CPA/ACCA qualified
  • 7–8 years of progressive financial management experience, including multi-entity oversight
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong command of Tanzanian tax laws and ERP systems – Proven leadership in budgeting, reporting, and team development

Reports to: Transport Manager (functional), Human Resources Manager (administrative)
Role Profile 
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources to support both Human Resources and Transport operations across Highland Estates. This role is instrumental in strengthening HR processes, enhancing fleet coordination, and building core competencies in compliance, documentation, and strategic tracking—laying the foundation for future leadership in operational and administrative excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Support
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and staff induction
  • Maintain HRIS and employee records
  • Support performance reviews and training coordination
  • Draft job descriptions and contracts and update organizational charts Participate in staff welfare and feedback initiatives
Transport Department Support
  • Maintain driver files, rosters, and license compliance logs
  • Track vehicle usage, fuel reports, and servicing schedules
  • Assist with insurance, inspections, and incident reporting Monitor driver performance and policy adherence
Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure HR and transport records meet audit and policy standards § Support disciplinary documentation and grievance handling
Reporting & Filing
  • Contribute to monthly HR and transport reports
  • Maintain organized filing systems for personnel and fleet
Strategic Tracking
  • Monitor departmental goals and progress against strategic plans § Compile dashboards and flag delays in key initiatives

This role plays a key part in enhancing systems fluency, data integrity, and digital workflows—while contributing to strategic initiatives and operational efficiency through hands-on experience with ERP platforms and performance reporting.

Key Responsibilities
IT Systems Support
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues
  • Maintain asset registers and user access logs
  • Support ERP updates and basic network maintenance Document IT support requests for analysis
Business Analysis & Reporting
  • Extract, clean, and visualize data from ERP systems
  • Prepare dashboards and performance reports
  • Analyze procurement, finance, and operational metrics Recommend workflow improvements
Process Mapping & Documentation
  • Document SOPs and system workflows
  • Support digitization and automation initiatives Assist in change management efforts
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Liaise with Finance, Procurement, and HR teams

  • At least 1 or 2 years of experience as IT Specialist.
