Introduction
Chuo Kikuu cha Sokoine Cha Kilimo (SUA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), is implementing the “Jenga Kesho Iliyo Bora” program to engage youth in agriculture across various crops in the country. Under the BBT-Avocado program, SUA and the Cereals and Other Produce Regulatory Authority (COPRA) have developed a plan to employ fifty (50) agricultural graduates for a period of twelve (12) months to provide extension services for a special program to promote avocado farming in the country. This program will be implemented in the 2025/2026 agricultural season as a preparation for raw avocado production. The initiative will take place in Rugwe District, Mbeya Region.
