Roles and Responsibilities
• Coordinating design consultants, engineers, and quantity surveyors with compilation of design layout of project to ensure conformity with the Company’s standard of quality, design, and safety.
• Appointing necessary contractors to perform the Company specific requirements on projects and to ensure their cooperation in orking with local authorities and other contractors.
• Carrying out safety induction meeting with contractors before commencing work and follow up adherence to the safety guidelines
• Monitoring expenditure of sanctioned items against budget and to compile monthly reports on such expenditure.
• Obtaining competitive quotations for work done by engineering contractors and for items to be supplied for the work.
• Ensures the establishment of suitable lists of potential bidders in accordance with vendor management policies and procedures.
• Keeping abreast of market activities, facilities concepts and external contractor costs and availability Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
• Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the Fuel industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
• Ensure compliance to the AMP (Annual Maintenance Plans) as issued by Global Maintenance team for Retail, Operations and B2B.
• Acting as a link between engineering section and Procurement in order to assist in the purchase of suitable materials and equipment.
• Promoting the identification and dissemination of engineering best practices, as well as lessons learned from Safety incidents and events.
• Coordinating engineering manpower plans and training to meet the engineering skills and knowledge requirements of the Company in Tanzania
• Generate clear and concise reports for planned and ad-hoc inspections, highlighting abnormalities, for approval
• Under instruction from the Operations Manager, prepares Scope of works for approved work programmes ensuring that all relevant regulations, especially those governing the safety and health of personnel, are complied with.
• Ensure that the Project Engineer and Maintenance Engineer submit all deliverables on time and check it regularly.
• Checks and approves engineering deliverables received from Project Engineer, Maintenance Engineer and third parties.
• Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with the established individual job/task procedures in strict compliance with the safety regulations and procedures contained therein
• Checks that the design is developed in line with the Pre-Project and the statement of requirements.
• Liaising with local authorities in respect of fit for purpose legislation and regulation Leading and controlling of the Engineering and Maintenance team Introduction, measuring and controlling the Engineering Core Offer

Educational Qualifications
• Graduate Engineer with Professional Engineering and/or Maintenance certification
• Solid knowledge and experience in Project and Maintenance Management
• At least 8 years’ experience in construction/Petroleum Industry including supervision of contractors
