JOB DETAILS:
The U.S. Peace Corps is a leading international community-based development agency that has been working in Tanzania since 1961 to support American Volunteers serving in a number of community development projects including Secondary Education, Sustainable Agriculture and Community Health Education.
We are looking for qualified candidates to temporarily facilitate a Pre-Service Training Programs for the Peace Corps Volunteers, to take place in Korogwe from June to September 2019. Our trainings follow Community-Based Training (CBT) approach and therefore the successful candidates will be required to live and work in rural areas around Dodoma town throughout the training period. Language and Cross-Culture Facilitators (LCFs)
• The LCFs are responsible for planning and implementing a successful community-based Swahili Language and Cross-Cultural training.
• He/She will be the primary point of contact for the Peace Corps Trainees, An LCF acts as the cross-culture guide to Trainees and a technical information resource person at the Community Based Training site.
• LCEs report to the Training Manager and work under direct supervision of the Language and CrossCulture Coordinator (LCC), in collaboration with the Homestay Program Coordinator and Technical Trainers to ensure that the volunteer-trainees meet a set of established language, technical and crosscultural minimum standards before service.

Desired Qualifications:
• An applicant must Tanzanian who possess at least a Diploma in Adult Education, Education, Social Work, Community Development or other fields related to the Peace Corps Projects.
• The incumbents must have at least 3 years of experience with teaching Kiswahili to Americans; and ability to communicate effectively in English,
• Knowledge and/or experience in secondary education, agriculture, livestock, forestry, gender and women empowerment, HIV&AIDS and Malaria will be an added advantage.
• Being functional in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is also an added advantage. Candidates from Zanzibar are strongly encouraged to apply.
