ABOUT RESTLESS DEVELOPMENT
We know young people have the power to solve the challenges we face in our world, but they are being sidelined. We are the agency that works with young people so they can lead in solving those challenges. Whether that means supporting communities to end child marriage or prevent HIV, we work with young people to change their lives and the lives of people in their communities. Our programmes are genuinely life-changing, but can’t do any of this without talented, creative individuals at every level of our organisation.

OUR APPROACH TO SAFEGUARDING
Restless Development considers the welfare and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults to be an organisational imperative with primacy over the success of programmes or strategic objectives. We recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and we expect all of our staff, volunteers and partners to ensure we protect the communities in which we operate from harm and abide by our Safeguarding Policy.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’ve been in Tanzania for the last twenty years, growing, changing and responding to the most urgent issues facing young Tanzanians. Our work in Tanzania has been cited best practice for our unrivalled methodologies by the World Bank1 and UNICEF and we were the winners of the 2014 Resolve Award from the Global Leaders Council for Health. Directly reaching over 110,000 young people across 14 regions each year, it is our young volunteers and youth led networks that lead and deliver transformative change.
Today, we address some of the biggest issues on the table including: the role of young people in the constitution and election process, unemployment, adolescent girls, and development.

Over the last 12 months our work has contributed on the ground to:
• 53,785 young people accessing sexual reproductive health programmes and services
• 11,701 young people accessing civic education and advocacy training, with 6,966 of them engaged in the constitutional review process
• 5,100 young people trained on how to set up their own business and as a result 2,431 micro-enterprises have been established.
