Position: Convenience Retail, Other Non Fuels Retail and Operations Support Manager
Job Purpose:
Retail Operations Support:
To support and coordinate the operation of Company Owned and Dealer Owned platforms, and support/ rollout of streamlined sales & operations processes. Ensure that systems are in place to support the sales team to deliver their targets. Providing assurance of full compliance with the governance in Operating Platforms, while sharing the learning in the management of the covered network to improve the operating platforms processes and policy.

Convenience Retail (CR) and Other Non-Fuels Retailing (ONFR)
Full accountability to deliver the country’s Convenience Retail (CR) and Other Non-Fuels Retailing (ONFR) plan

Principal Accountabilities:
• Develops and owns a country-specific Convenience Retail & ONFR plan based on the group’s Convenience Retail strategic framework.
• Deliver the annual country CR & ONFR C3 margin plan
• Leverages the internal and external resources required to deliver the Country’s agreed CR and ONFR plan be it in terms of new shops to be built, formats to be delivered and in delivering the planned bottom line results.
• Requesting and agreeing the final budget estimation in line with the IP economics capacity
• Providing and fast tracking sign off of Retailer/Partners contracts, detailing agreed scope of work and commercial terms
• Finding, assessing, designing and developing new and existing locations/site
• Sets the strategic direction for CR and ONFR in the country through informed use of market, customer, competitor, financial and economic data.
• Approves ranging, assortments and planograms and new store layouts and merchandising
• Identify, select, negotiate with, appoint and develop key suppliers for the CR business
• Ensure an effective supply chain strategy and troubleshoot supply chain challenges
• Identifies, selects, negotiate with and appoints key partners and form strategic alliances with them to propel our CR and ONFR business growth
• In close collaboration with Marketing, develop and implement tactical marketing plans and promotional campaigns that delivers customer value and supplier income in line with the agreed Convenience Retail strategic framework.
• Ensure compliance with the agreed Convenience Retail strategic framework in terms of formats, pricing, ranging, operational excellence, and macro and micro space optimization.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) and performance trends and leads supplier/ wholesaler performance management, review and improvement initiatives, determining appropriate action to address issues, improve performance and minimize risk.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
• Graduate in the field of Business Management, Sales, Marketing or related
• 3 to 5 years of business management experience in the Retail/FMCG field with experience in shop formats, merchandising, range & category management, and supplier management.
• Proven track record of performance in an Operational Excellence role such as implementing standard processes, and uphold compliance to standards.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to maximize business opportunities with sound understanding of strategy, business and project evaluation tools
• Strong project management skills and leadership of project teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and ability to influence and deliver through others is key.
• Strong team member with excellent communications and relationship building skills.
• Strong facilitation skills and ability to deliver training to front-line staff
