Job Summary

Job Description

Duty Station: Moshono - Arusha, Tanzania
Reporting To : Head of Marketing 
Location : Sisia Campus, Moshono, Arusha, Tanzania

About Us
The School of St Jude is an education institution, entirely funded by charitable donations, that provides a 100% free, quality education to 1,800 of the poorest and brightest students in the Arusha region.
Objectives
To positively impact the marketing and fundraising efforts of The School of St Jude by assisting with the creation of compelling and creative photography and videography collateral.

Key tasks & responsibilities
Implementation
  • Ensure all allocated tasks for photography and videos are completed within the set times frames.
  • Develop weekly and monthly personal work plans in consultation with the Head of Marketing.
  • Suggest and support creative direction on all visual marketing materials and ensure the St Jude’s brand is consistently represented across all photos and videos.
  • Watermark images from special events when required.
  • Deliver tasks that are organised, coordinated and directed by the Head of Marketing for the Marketing department and any other department as directed by the Head of Marketing or Manager.
  • Record and edit St Jude’s Podcast as organised and directed by the Head of Marketing.
  • Assist with annual photo taking, special celebration day photography and videography as required and with the approval of the Head of Marketing.
  • Take Staff ID photos monthly, make and print staff ID’s under HR instructions.
  • Update intranet with photos of new staff on a monthly basis.
  • Interview students, staff, sponsors, donors and visitors as required for the production of video and audio recordings.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to take photos and videos of interesting classes, professional development activities, presentations, performances, excursions, school assemblies, VIP supported activities, sponsors, donors and visitors at the school and in the wider community.
  • Edit, label, resize, sort and file digital images and videos logically and within set timeframes.
  • Maintain, track and record all photography and videography related equipment in accordance with the IT/photography equipment responsibility agreement.

Continuous Improvement
  • Keep updated with photography and videography trends that may positively influence the photography and videography for the school.
  • In collaboration with Head of Marketing, implement agreed improvements.
  • Always take care of the photography and videography equipment as you would your own.

Other
  • Periodically suggest improvements to the departments’ procedures and submit to supervisor for approval.
  • Participate in House Checks as requested by Community Relations team.
  • Participate and support fellow staff in school mission related activities such as all
  • School Celebration Days throughout the year.
  • Participate in student selection process, in particular working after hours on rest days and public holidays up to 20 Saturdays per annum.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor, Manager and Founder.
Read Also:
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to set timelines and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong creative skills in multimedia, content development and production.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral) in English and Kiswahili and ability to spell accurately.
  • Excellent photography skills including editing and retouching with advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Lightroom required.
  • Excellent video making skills including advanced knowledge of Premiere Pro required.
  • Knowledge of After Effects, Audition, InDesign and Illustrator are desirable.
  • Strong inter-personal skills to work in collaboration with all other departments
  • Confident in dealing with a range of people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail particularly with regards to data-entry and digital image labelling.
  • Ability to work as part of a close team of Tanzanian and International staff.

Other Relevant Information
  • Travel between campuses may be required.
  • From 08:30am to 05:00pm Monday to Friday. (Occasionally on Saturday).
