CAMP AND FACILITIES ADMINISTRATOR-NGARA
Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit a Camp and Facilities Administrator to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team.
This is a Fixed Term contract of 1 Year and the successful candidate will report to the Camp and Facilities Lead
Duty Station: Tembo Nickel Project Site-Ngara

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To manage all daily, weekly, and monthly operations of the camp occupancy.
  • To ensure all guests receive the Tembo Nickel experience, compliant with our high standard of service offering.
  • To ensure timely initiation of purchase requisitions for camp related equipments and food for approval by the Camp and Facilities Lead.
  • To develop and manage camp inventory and submit monthly reports of all equipment and tools in the camp.
  • To ensure health and safety including protection of all guests, staff, property, and equipment (all company assets to be managed to limit potential loss to Tembo Nickel.
  • To safety procedures are in place for guests both in the property and when participating in activities, excursions, and transfers, as well as for staff, property, and equipment, in coordination with all Managers.
  • To ensure that overall repairs and maintenance of the camp are being followed through, focusing on preventive maintenance in coordination with the Maintenance Team
  • To ensure all procurement, stores and stock control are being followed correctly, in accordance with the camp requirements.
  • To ensure that the overall hygiene of the camp is in place and maintained to a high level.
  • To ensure that all areas and guest’s facilities are always up to standard.
  • To ensure menus are balanced and the quality of the food is stable and of a high standard.
  • To handle guest complaints immediately, should the manager on duty require assistance.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities Management/ Hotel Management or Administration.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Experience in Camp Management/Hotel Management.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Valid driving License.
  • Excellent communication in English and Swahili, both writing and verbal.

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR-NGARA
Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team. We are looking to employ a maintenance supervisor with an outstanding knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance. A maintenance supervisor is expected to have excellent organizational and time management skills. You will display natural leadership and possess top communication skills with a great eye for detail.

To ensure success, maintenance supervisors should display strong problem solving and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of building maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, cleaning and managing staff. Top candidates will be outstanding at building and equipment maintenance procedures and have extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.
  • Employ, supervise and train workers.
  • Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
  • Maintain all inventory and equipment and ensure proper storage.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.

  • Conduct follow-up on all maintenance and repair work.
  • Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.

Qualifications and Competencies

ENVIRONMENTAL LEAD (2)-NGARA & KAHAMA
Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit an Environmental Lead to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team. This is a senior role reporting to the Country Manager and the successful candidate is expected to lead Management of the Environmental Management System, water, air, ambient noise and vibration, and chemical management ensuring that environmental legal compliance, performance, and certification is sustained.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead implementation of the company’s Air Quality, Water, Waste and Chemicals Management Standards.
  • Drive the compliance with mine closure plan and other legal requirements.
  • Develop the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Mine closure plan. Train all key stakeholders to ensure full compliance to the Tembo Nickel Environmental Management System.
  • Lead in updating the EMP in compliance with legal and other requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of the Environmental Management System to attain various environmental certification.
  • Carry out evaluation of environmental compliance at a predetermined frequency.
  • Engage with various environmental consultants to carry out external compliance reviews at a predetermined frequency.
  • Oversee the implementation of plans of action to close all environmental non- compliant issues.
  • Be the custodian of the Tembo Nickel environmental incidents register.
  • Ensure Tembo Nickel secures environmental permits/licenses/approvals.
  • Supervise the data collection exercise to ensuring QA/QC is followed.
  • Oversee data analysis ensuring correct information is derived.
  • Recommend and implement approved practical and cost-effective corrective and preventive measures to address exceedances found.
  • Coordinate and participate in government, corporate and third-party environmental audits as well as drive internal environmental inspections and audits.
  • Coordinate the implementation of agreed plans of action to address the findings in a timely manner.
  • Identify new risks and timely update existing risk details in the risk management data base.
  • Lead the reporting of incidents ensuring they are reported and uploaded in the incident database in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the implementation of agreed corrective and preventive action.
  • Ensure all staff and contractors are trained at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities.
  • Liaise with environmental regulators to ensure that Tembo Nickel is in full compliance as per various environmental legislations in Tanzania.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences/Engineering, or any related field.
  • Master’s degree in Environmental Management will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of environmental legislation in Tanzania is mandatory
  • 5-8 years experience in a senior environmental Management role.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS OFFICER -KAHAMA
Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel (TN) is seeking to recruit a Community Relations Officer to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team. She/he will have full responsibility for the assigned activities and be one of the primary interfaces with the identified local stakeholders. S/he will maintain regular communications with local government officials and other strategic partners at Village, Ward, and District level.

This is a Fixed Term contract of 1 Year and the successful candidate will report to the site Project Lead
Duty Station:
Tembo Nickel Project Site-Kahama

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as liaison between TN and identified local stakeholders.
  • Provide updates of assigned tasks on important achievements/constraints encountered at a weekly department meeting.
  • Attend daily department morning briefing session.
  • Work with Community Relations team to support implementation of community development programs, community awareness creation and community capacity building.
  • Work with the Resettlement team to support the Resettlement Action plan and Livelihood Restoration program.
  • Support Contractors and other TN lead departments on Community Relations affairs.
  • Assist development of documentation, surveys, and relevant reports (e.g., Socioeconomic surveys, stakeholder engagement report, weekly report etc.)
  • Support data management – collection, cleaning, and analysis.
  • Support development of department plans, implementation, and follow-up of department activities.
  • Jointly with the Community Relations team, undertake monitoring, internal evaluation and documentation of all work done by the CR Department
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably assigned by the Community Relations Lead.

Qualifications and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Rural and Urban Planning, Community Development or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the same or related role.
  • Computer literate and fully conversant with basic computer applications.

SITE PROJECT LEAD- KAHAMA

Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit a Site Project Lead to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team. This is a senior role reporting to the Country Manager and the successful candidate is expected to play a critical role in the initial stage of designing and construction of the Kahama site. We are looking for an experienced individual to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. An excellent Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.

Duty Station-Tembo Nickel Project site-Kahama
This is a Fixed Term contract of 1 Year and the successful candidate will report to the Country Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
  • Determine the needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities.
  • Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.

PERMITTING OFFICER-PAR
Position Summary:

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit a Permitting Officer to join the Tembo Nickel Project Team. The successful candidate will be accountable for all permits and licenses required for smooth execution of the project. This role will report to the Senior Office Administrator.

Duty Station: Dar es salaam
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Compile and maintain a register of permits and licenses required to develop and operate a mine in Tanzania.
  • Execute permitting submissions to authorities from start for new applications as well as renewals.
  • Coordinate with Heads of department in preparation of permits requirement plan to ensure full compliance.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly permitting reports.
  • Advice Tembo Nickel when there are changes in permit application processes and requirements.
  • Contact applicable authorities to confirm permitting process and documents required for approval, turnaround timeframe, and maintain a record of this information.
  • Monitor and maintain of all Tembo Nickel permits and licenses relating to the SML, PL as well as the refinery license.
  • Set reminders to ensure that all permit renewals are done on time and Heads of departments are fully aware of renewal dates and requirements for renewals.
  • Communicate with leadership regarding permit statuses when necessary and advice permit application or renewal process.

Qualifications and Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 5 years experience related to major projects permits.
  • Experience with permit-handling with government offices is an added advantage.
