LVIA - ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR AND COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE IN TANZANIA
DESCRIPTION OF THE POST

  • Area of intervention: Based in Dodoma, where LVIA will open an office with its Partner CUAMM. Frequent missions are foreseen within Dodoma Region, Dodoma, Kongwa, Bahi and Chamwino Districts
  • Donors: Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS) 
Recommended:
  • Sectors: Food Security and Nutrition, resilience, sustainable and inclusive income generating activities promotion, gender equality, participatory development and good governance,
  • Role: Project Coordination, representing LVIA in Tanzania, networking with Partners, Stakeholders and Local Authorities, supervision of administrative/financial issues (procurements, tender preparation, monthly accountancy, financial reporting), reporting
  • Refers to: Desk Officer in Italy
  • Duration: 12 months (renewable)
  • Expected availability: October 2022
  • Salary: In line with LVIA salary policy

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Requirements
Qualification:
  • Degree in international cooperation, agronomy, economics, political science, social science or similar.

Previous experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience managing NGOs activities at a Country level (headquarters and/or local offices) and/or implementation of international cooperation projects on Food and Nutrition Security in rural areas and/or rural development field. Experience of conducting multi-actor projects particularly with the participation of institutional actors. Knowledge and implementation of social innovation and/or human rights-based projects.
Knowledge:
  • Excellent knowledge of administrative and accounting management, as well as AICS and EU procedures. Mastery of IT tools (Office package, internet, e-mail, accounting software, etc.).
Languages:
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Italian. Knowledge of swahili language is an advantage.

Skills:
– Ability to implement complex projects – Ability to identify and elaborate new project proposals – Management and coordination of the local staff – Procurement and administration skills – Ability of vision and synthesis – Communication and mediation skills with local partners and institutions

Preferred
  • Previous experiences in Africa, preferably in Tanzania. Previous experiences working as NGO Country Representative. Previous work experience in health and nutrition, gender equality, WASH, participatory development and good governance sectors. Insights of agricultural development, food security, rural development (masters, specialization courses, etc.).
  • Previous experience in projects promoting institutional building and working closely with Local Authorities.
  • Social Innovation and Human Centered Design projects ideation and implementation experience.
  • Previous collaborations with L.V.I.A.
