The Government of Tanzania conducted the Demographic and Health Survey/ Malaria Indicator Survey (TDHS/MIS) in 20221. The TDHS/MIS is a nationally representative household survey that provides data for a wide range of coverage and outcome indicators in the areas of population, maternal and child health, gender, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and nutrition and is usually conducted every 5 years to allow comparisons over time. In response to the Government’s call to strengthen local capacity to undertake the planned micronutrient biomarkers laboratory analysis in-country, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in close collaboration with partners strengthened the capacity of the TFNC laboratory to fully conduct micronutrient biomarkers analysis.

In light of this UNICEF is looking to engage a consultant. The mission of the consultant will be to support and document the experience of planning, implementation (including trainings, data collection, data analysis) and dissemination of the findings of the micronutrient component of the TDHS.
