TANZANIA NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY (TANROADS) Jobs 2024Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is vested with the
responsibility of Maintenance and Development of the Trunk and Regional
Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland. It is also responsible in
conducting Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridge scales.
The Regional Manager TANROADS Lindi on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS is looking for suitable qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacant posts available for the project of Upgrading of Nachingwea – Ruangwa – Nanganga Road (106km) To Bitumen Standard; Loti: Ruangwa – Nanganga Section (57.6km); Contract No. TRD/HQ/1012/2023/2024.
TANROADS therefore intends to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill vacancy posts on specified contract for the aforementioned project in the following fields.

Successful applicants must be ready to work for considerable lengths of time in Nachingwea District where the project is located.
Terms of Service:
The Terms of Employment: Specified Contract for 1 year
Salary: TANROADS Salary scale with other site allowances as per TANROADS Incentive Policy

Duties and Responsibilities:
- To assist in preparation and sketches, maps and reports of works performed;
- To assist in reviewing survey data for accuracy, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites; To record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features; To assist in determining specifications for photographic equipment to be used for aerial photography; and
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor

POSITION TITLE: SENIOR ENGINEER (HIGHWAY ENGINEER) -1 POST
Entry Qualifications:
- Must be a Tanzanian Citizen who is a holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institutions with working experience of at least seven (7) years in related field. Must be registered by ERB as Professional Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To supervise conformity of contract conditions and specifications;
- To review existing design and identify any shortfalls and advise to the Resident Engineer appropriately during the construction period; To identify and locate all beacons and benchmarks to enable the contractor set out and construct the works; To inspect completed works in order to ensure compliance with technical specification requirements;
- To prepare control charts of the main activities and a project master schedule, indicating both past performance and forecasts for completion including time involved in each case;
- To measure quantities of works satisfactorily carried out; To prepare and submit detailed progress report with updated cost of the civil works to the Resident Engineer; and To perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager(PM)
