Responsibilities:
The CEO will be the Senior agronomist of a large-scale sunflower farming company and will be responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the company’s farming operations across approximately 2,000 acres of farms. This includes ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest agricultural standards. The CEO will lead and supervise a team of agronomists and a large workforce of farm laborers, coordinating their efforts to ensure the successful execution of all key farming processes, such as land preparation, cultivation, clearing, harrowing, planting, and harvesting.
The CEO must also anticipate and address potential agricultural challenges, including growth issues, pests, diseases, and the effective use of pesticides and insecticides. Strategic planning is essential, as is ensuring that all farming operations align with the company’s long-term goals, emphasizing productivity, sustainability, and profitability.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the CEO will oversee budget planning and ensure financial discipline by identifying cost-effective solutions to optimize operations. The role involves regular financial reporting to company directors.

Supervising
Agronomists are responsible for overseeing and managing sunflower
farming operations across a designated area of approximately 500 acres.
Working closely with their assigned teams of local laborers and support
staff, they ensure that all farming activities are executed effectively
and align with the company’s operational standards and objectives.Reporting to: Company CEO
Work place: Dodoma area
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee daily agricultural activities, including land preparation, cultivation, clearing, harrowing, planting, and harvesting, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of local laborers and team members, fostering productivity and teamwork.
- Monitor the health and growth of sunflower crops, identifying potential challenges such as pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, or environmental stresses.
- Implement appropriate measures, including the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and insecticides, to address issues effectively.
- Plan and allocate resources such as equipment, materials, and labor efficiently to optimize farm productivity.
- Ensure cost-effective use of inputs and adhere to budget constraints for assigned acreage.
- o Provide regular updates to the CEO and senior management, including progress reports on farming activities, resource usage, and crop performance. o Maintain detailed records of farming operations, expenditures, and labor activities to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Train and mentor local labor teams, promoting best practices in farming techniques and safety standards.
- Lead by example, maintaining a high standard of work ethic and professionalism.
Qualifications: Definitive Sunflower Experience
- Proven record of 5-10 years’ experience working in big farms 300- 1000 acers and above
- A degree in Agriculture
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the Farming process (preferably sunflower farming and agriculture) i.e cultivation, harrowing, planting, seeds, pesticides, irrigation and operation of irrigation systems
- Deep knowledge and understanding in farm equipment & machinery, tractors and discs.
- Knowledge and experience in market pricing and cost: renting & buying agriculture machinery, seeds pricing, labor cost, land cost, irrigation systems and water, electricity cost.
- Ability to supervise and manage A-Z from cultivation to harvest – 500-1000 acers making sure quality and quantity are to the best results.
- Managerial skills and experience, able to successfully manage employees farm labor on a daily basis to achieve best results.
- Budget planning ability to negotiate cost and prices in order to meet company budget goals.
- Hardworking, responsible and accountable.
- Proactive, Attention to detail, problem solving skills, strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Must be fluent in English, speaking and writting.

- Deep knowledge and understanding in farm equipment & machinery, tractors and
- discs.
- Knowledge and experience in market pricing and cost: renting & buying agriculture machinery, seeds pricing, labor cost, land cost, irrigation systems and water, electricity cost.
