Position: Camp Manager
Tortilis Tanzania is seeking an experienced and dedicated Camp Manager to oversee operations at our camps located in Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti national parks.
Duties, Responsibilities, and Performance Standards
- Communicate with the reservation department regarding clients’ arrival and departure.
- Greet and brief clients with basic information about the camp, managing client services during their stay.
- Work together with other staff and management in a smooth, safe, and harmonious manner to ensure clients have a memorable stay at the camp.
- Inspect client rooms, public areas, and grounds for cleanliness and appearance.
- Oversee assigned duties of staff to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with set rules.
- Coordinate back-of-house activities at the camp, such as maintenance and asset management.
- Manage the movement of staff according to company policy.
- Produce weekly and monthly reports of camp progress to the Operations Manager or head office.

General Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience working in camps will be highly valued.
- Education in Hospitality and Hotel Management is preferable.
- Good English-speaking skills, leadership abilities, guest-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure overall repairs and maintenance of the property are followed through, focusing on preventive maintenance in coordination with the Operations Department.
- Answer inquiries regarding services and attend to clients’ complaints.
- Manage guest services and activities provided by staff.
- Ensure monthly and weekly stock takes are done and submitted on time according to the financial timeline.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and grounds for cleanliness and appearance.
- Oversee staff-assigned duties and ensure compliance with camp standard operating procedures and National Parks rules.
- Manage all daily, weekly, and monthly operations of the camp.
- Ensure all guests receive an excellent hospitality experience, compliant with the camp’s high standard of service offering.
- Maintain strong cooperation and communication with operations departments and their teams.
- Ensure general data is accurate, timely, and consolidated, and measure the performance of individual staff.
- Oversee health and safety, including protection of all guests, staff, property, and equipment (all company assets to be managed to limit potential loss to the company).
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry as a supervisor.
- Leadership skills, guest-oriented, strong communication skills.
- Team orientation, faithfulness, and excellent leadership skills.
- Flexibility, commitment, dedication, and reliability.
- Good manners and a positive attitude.
- A hospitable and service-oriented attitude.
