1. Mining Manager
Reports to: General Manager, Nyanzaga Gold Project
Job type: Full-time
Position Purpose:
The Mining Manager is responsible for leading the operational readiness, mine preparation, and subsequent execution of open pit mining activities at the site. Initially, the role will focus on preparing the mine for safe and efficient production, including early-stage mine preparation such as pre-stripping, mine plan development, mining contractor engagement, recruitment and training of personnel, and commissioning of equipment and infrastructure. Once operational, the manager will oversee day-to-day mining operations to ensure production targets are met in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. This role is critical in transitioning the site from project development to full-scale mining operations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, environment, health, and community.
- Lead and manage all mine preparation activities, including construction and commissioning of mine infrastructure and equipment, as well as award and management of mining contracts, including tender processes and mobilization planning.
- Collaborate with geology, engineering, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery and commissioning of mine infrastructure and facilities.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), emergency response plans, and safety systems in preparation for operational ramp-up.
- Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and operational standards.
Qualifications and Licenses:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in open pit mining, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
2. Mining Superintendent
Reports to: Mining Manager
Job type: Full-time
Position Purpose:
The Mining Superintendent is accountable for the leadership, coordination, and execution of open pit mining activities. The role ensures that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational and strategic objectives. During the mine start-up phase, the position plays a critical role in establishing mining operations, implementing systems and processes, and supporting the mobilization of contractors and equipment. The incumbent is required to apply practical leadership, technical expertise, and prior start-up experience to build and stabilize early-stage operational capability.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all survey construction activities and procedures adhere to the applicable mining regulations.
- Ensure completed Land Clearing Permits are in place prior to overseeing vegetation clearing and topsoil stripping.
- Model effective leadership to manage a diverse local and national workforce.
- Lead the establishment and implementation of mining systems, operating procedures, and site standards during the construction, commissioning, and ramp-up phases.

3. Senior Mine Surveyor
Reports to: Mining Superintendent
Job type: Full-time
Position Purpose:
The Senior Mine Surveyor is responsible for supervising and executing all surveying activities across the mine site. This includes open pit development, infrastructure layout, stockpile volume management, and rehabilitation tracking. The role ensures the delivery of precise and timely spatial data to support mining operations, geology, and mine planning functions. This position provides leadership to the site survey team, maintains the integrity of the site’s survey control networks, and oversees the integration of drone (UAV) workflows into established survey systems and data pipelines.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all survey construction activities and procedures adhere to the applicable mining regulations.
- Ensure completed Land Clearing Permits are in place prior to overseeing vegetation clearing and topsoil stripping.
- Plan, supervise, and execute all mine site survey activities, including pit development, infrastructure, stockpiles, haul roads, ROM pads, and rehabilitation.
- Conduct drone surveys and process UAV data to produce topographic models, orthophotos, and volume calculations.
- Complete drill and blast pickups, mark out blast and exploration holes, and support end-of-month volume reconciliation.
- Install and maintain site-wide survey control, including crests, toes, ramps, and other key features.
Qualifications and Licenses:
- Degree or diploma in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
- Recognized drone pilot certification (e.g., CASA RePL, GVC, or equivalent).
4. Supply Chain Superintendent
Reports to: Regional Supply Chain Manager
Job type: Full-time
Position Purpose:
The Supply Chain Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing all supply chain functions in support of Perseus Mining’s operations in Tanzania. This role oversees procurement, purchasing, logistics, and warehouse inventory management to ensure goods and services are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively in support of the Supply Chain Business Plan, ensuring operational requirements are met while upholding Perseus’ standards, values, and compliance obligations. The Supply Chain Superintendent establishes and manages supplier agreements, maintains effective controls and reporting systems, and builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The role ensures the team delivers services on time, within budget, and aligned with operational goals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing and procurement plans.
- Negotiate contracts and supply agreements to secure best value for money while meeting operational needs.
- Implement best practices in inventory management, including forecasting, stock rotation, and loss prevention.
- Manage operational budgets for procurement, logistics, and warehouse functions, delivering cost savings where possible.
- Leverage ERP systems (such as Pronto) to improve visibility, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Licenses:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field (or equivalent tertiary qualification).
- Professional certifications in procurement or logistics management are an advantage.
