Credit Analyst at Diamond Trust Bank Plc August 2025
Diamond Trust Bank is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Credit Analyst position at its Head Office in Dar es Salaam. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the bank’s credit management processes under the supervision of the Head of Corporate Banking.Position Details
Job Title: Credit Analyst
Location: Dar es Salaam, Head Office
Job Type: Full-time
Reports to: Head of Corporate Banking
Job Purpose
The Credit Analyst is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of credit applications and related transactions.
This includes:
- Conducting credit assessments
- Defending credit proposals at various review levels
- Handling documentation, disbursement, and administrative account-related matters
- Overseeing all credit administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure turnaround time for credit applications meets agreed timeframes
- Contribute to managing, monitoring, and controlling the lending portfolio
- Perform credit appraisals and recommend proposals to credit committees
- Process other credit-related applications
- Liaise with professionals such as advocates, accountants, valuers, and insurers
- Diarize issues from credit applications for future action
- Identify weaknesses in credit processing and recommend or organize suitable training
- Follow up on audit reports reviewing credit applications and loan appraisals
- Analyze financial statements

Candidate Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or Economics
- Fresh graduate or minimum of 1 year of banking experience in credit management from a reputable commercial bank
Personal Attributes:
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Structured approach to handling complex and variable work environments independently
- Ability to balance opposing business requirements
- Capability to manage long-term and short-term requirements independently
