Position: Graphic Designer
Job Type: Full-time
Graphic Designer Job Vacancy at The Guardian Limited
Job Purpose
The Graphic Designer will create and develop communication materials for The Guardian Limited and provide oversight to ensure the effective execution of all communication elements.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop designs based on client requirements.
- Insert advertisements into main working files.
- Perform color separation and page proofing before sending to pre-press.
- Collaborate as a member of the News Room graphics team, undertaking additional assignments as directed by superiors.
- Ensure final artwork is proofread for accuracy and quality.
- Produce camera-ready pages for the newspaper smoothly and on time.
- Adhere to the duty roster and complete tasks assigned by the Head of Graphics or Editors to meet daily deadlines.
- Create and design newspaper pages in accordance with the newspaper’s templates.
- Create high-quality charts, graphs, illustrations, and other artwork for designed pages.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Academic: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Graphic Design or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Skills in Adobe Suite, video editing, and motion graphics are an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of working experience.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Position: Supplement Editor
Job Type: Full-time
Job Vacancy: Supplement Editor at The Guardian Limited
Key Responsibilities
- Develop editorial plans for special supplements and advertorial features.
- Write, edit, and proofread content tailored to client needs while maintaining journalistic quality.
- Coordinate with advertisers, designers, and the editorial team to deliver timely, engaging content.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and creativity in all supplement publications.
- Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in editorial writing, editing, or content development.
- Strong writing and editing skills in English (Swahili is an added advantage).
- Experience in advertorials, marketing content, or corporate communication.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
