Employment Opportunities at STAMIGOLD Company LimitedSTAMIGOLD Company Limited, a subsidiary of the State Mining Corporation (STAMICO), operates a gold mine in the B tablesiharamulo Forest Reserve, southwest of Mwanza in the Kagera Region. To ensure effective and efficient operations, the company invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacancies at the Biharamulo Mine Site. The work roster for these positions is 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off. Below are the details of the available positions, including duties, core competencies, minimum qualifications, and application instructions.
Senior Geologist (1 Post)
Job Type: Full-timeDuties and Responsibilities
- Prepare work plans for mine grade control, sampling, and monitoring.
- Assist geologists in ore delineation and blocking to minimize ore loss and dilution, providing constant communication and mentoring.
- Ensure ore reserve and resource estimates are maintained with high accuracy.
- Implement quality control practices to meet resource recovery objectives during project development.
- Develop programs and reporting functions for timely cost and commitment forecasts.
- Monitor the performance of drilling and other geology works contractors.
- Collaborate with the Mining Department for site preparations and mining activities throughout the project’s life.
- Work with the Mining and Process Plant Departments to ensure sustained project development.
- Promote policies and procedures aligned with Tanzanian governing agencies and STAMIGOLD’s operating system.
- Develop and promote a succession plan to support localization initiatives.
- Assist the Chief Mine Geologist in optimizing ore delivery to the mill through effective pit mineralization understanding, grade control processes, and minimization of dilution during mining.
- Act as the Chief Geologist in their absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Core Competencies
- Effective communication.

- Holder of a BSc in Geology or a related field from a recognized institution.
- At least five years of experience as a geologist in exploration, mining operations, and gold processing environments.
- Working knowledge of mine and geology software packages, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, or other database software.
Graduate Geologist (1 Post)
Job Type: Full-time
Duties and ResponsibilitiesJob Type: Full-time
- Supervise and participate in drilling, sampling, and excavation of the ore body, including related data acquisition.
- Assist in assessing and developing satellite deposits.
- Undertake and compile geotechnical and geological mapping of the pit and other areas as directed.
- Collaborate with the Mine and Process Departments to support ore body development and reconciliation.
- Liaise with the Production Geologist and Senior Production Geologist on grade control planning and interpretations.
- Assist in compiling and preparing geology reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
