LOLC Tanzania is looking for a Senior Accountant to work in Dar es Salaam. The company is a financial services provider that offers loan solutions to individuals and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities for this role include:- Reviewing and approving bank, product, receivables, and payables reconciliations.
- Preparing financial statements and coordinating external audits.
- Supervising financial operations at branch-level, which includes cash management and loan file custody.
- Ensuring the timely processing of payments, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
- Supporting the Head of Finance in creating MIS reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Training and mentoring finance staff and new recruits.
- Updating finance policies and procedures to align with business and regulatory changes.
- Participating in system enhancements and maintaining financial documentation.
- Collaborating with other departments on finance-related issues and responding to audit queries.

Qualifications
- Candidates for this position must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A CPA (T) qualification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Mandatory experience in a financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax laws, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
