ActionAid Tanzania (AATZ) is a development organisation that is committed for social justice, gender equality and ending poverty. It started development programs in the country in 1998 as a cross-border initiative by ActionAid Kenya and later transformed into a full-fledged Country Programme in 2000. Since then, it has rolled out three Country Strategy Papers and currently implementing the fourth strategic paper (2018-2022), making contribution to the development of the country. It is an Affiliate member of the ActionAid International (AAI) Federation which is a global justice organization working towards social justice, gender equality and eradication of poverty.

AATZ has development programs in the mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. At local level, it has long term commitment in selected district-based Local Rights Programs (LRPs) where it has been working directly with communities and local partners in Mafia, Unguja, Pemba, Kilwa, Tandahimba, Newala, Chamwino and Singida. At national level, the organization has been partnering with national and international organizations, networks, coalitions, and forums to influence policies and strategies in favour of people living in poverty through engaging with government ministries and law makers besides its participation in international solidarity actions.

AATZ envisions seeing Tanzania without poverty and injustice in which every person enjoys his/her right to a life of dignity. Currently, the organization is looking for a qualified, experienced, and self-motivated people to fill in the following vacant posts below....

Youth Engagement and Climate Justice Inspirator
Job Title:
Youth Engagement and Climate Justice Inspirator
Workstation: Kigoma Region
Reports to: Livelihood & Resource Mobilization Manager
Duration: 1 year
Job Role:
To strengthen the capacity of the partners in area of youth engagement for climate justice and disaster preparedness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support establishment of youth’s hubs at district level in Kasulu and Kibondo
  • Organise capacity building training to partners and youth on climate justice and leadership
  • Support partner in design and preparing communication and partnership policy.
  • Support partners in organizing dialogue with Local Government Authorities on youth demands for development.
  • Train partner on basic principles of Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) especially contextualization of the approach mto practice.

Essential Experience:
  • At least two years’ experience in youth engagement field related works
  • Experience in advocacy, campaign work, working as volunteer, young people mobilization in developing countries and coordinating young people movements/ networks/alliances.

Education Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies. Natural Resources, and Forestry. Master’s degree in any Social Sciences will be added advantage

Climate Justice and Disaster Preparedness Inspirator
Job Title:
Climate Justice and Disaster Preparedness Inspirator
Workstation: Kigoma Region
Reports to: Livelihood & Resource Mobilization Manager
Duration: 1 year
Job Role:
The purpose of this placement is to strengthen the capacity of the partners in area of Climate Justice and Disaster Preparedness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support in organizing the training to youth on climate justice and disaster preparedness.
  • Support in mobilize youth to take active participation in climate justice campaign at regional and district level.
  • Supports in organizing district and regional forum to youth, host communities and other key stakeholders on climate justice and disaster preparedness.
  • Support in establishment of youth’s climate justice hubs/clubs at district level.
  • Facilitates training to partner and youth on HRBA for programming youth related intervention for sustainability.

Essential Experience:

  • At least two years’ experience in climate justice field related works
  • Project Management experience especially from voluntary work will be added advantage.
  • HRBA & Climate Justice and Disaster preparedness experience especially in host communities around refugee camps.

Interns – Global Platform (2 positions)
Job Title:
Interns – Global Platform (2 positions)
Workstation: Head Office, Dar es Salaam
Reports to: Global Platform Coordinator
Duration: Five (5) months
Job Role:
The Global Platfonn Tanzania training team is only now growing, and to ensure the training team works successfully to achieve all its deliverables it will be supported by a vibrant intern with the following roles;
  • Assist the training ream with co-facilitating trainings
  • Support the training team with training development and delivery.
  • Assist the training team with ensuring that all training spaces are on set
  • Assist the training team and proctueinent team in ensuring that all items used in trainings are recorded in the Podio etc.

Essential Experience:
  • At least two years’ experience in youth development field related works
  • Experience in designing and delivering participatory trainings, youth activism, monitoring & evaluation, running events and coordinating complex activities

Job Title: Shared Learning and Impact Documenting Intent – Global Platform
Workstation:
Head Office. Dar es Salaam
Reports to: Global Platfonn Coordinator
Duration: Five (5) months
Job Role:
The position will support, strengthen, and develop the methodological capacity of the Global Platfonn (GP) Tanzania trainer team, oversee training quality assurance processes with all trainings, as well as ensuring the smooth running of courses and offer support to Youth Hub activities. Working closely with the GP Coordinator and ActionAid Impact Assessment & Shared Learning Manager that will dwell on quality of training and track learning within the organization and program work at community level and oversee unit reporting. Ensure quality trainers, quality content, quality delivery and impactful learning. Should pinpoint capacity gaps and together with manager target the right associates including ActionAid staff, trainer exchange. TCDC and consultants.

Essential Experience:
  • At least two years’ experience in youth development field related works
  • Experience in designing and delivering participatory trainings, youth activism, monitoring & evaluation, running events and coordinating complex activities

Education Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E). Master’s degree in any Social Sciences will be added advantage
