Americares Foundation Tanzania is seeking qualified contractor for the improvement of health worker safety by improving WASH infrastructures (providing treated water, water distribution network, improve plumbing work for hospital buildings, and sanitary appliances, improve wastewater collection system). Please refer to the Terms and Conditions (below) in preparing your quotation.
Specifically, the main tasks that the selected contractor will have to successfully complete are:
· Supply materials and construct of 6m raisers for 10,000 liters Polytank within hospital compound, including all masonry/concrete works, pipe and fittings as per drawing, and relocate the existing 10,000L tank to that structure
· Construction of raised structure for 5000ltr Polytank as per drawing,
· Pipe and fittings
· Supply material and construct 15 cement blocks valve chambers with size of 90cm x 90cm x 115 cm complete with 2 reinforced concrete cover each as per drawing provided and Engineer instructions
· Supply and install drip chlorination unit per engineer's instructions
· Procurement and installation of surface water pump (Capacity 5m3/hr; Head= 18-20m with its accessories) and construct pump cage
· Rehabilitate and replace worn out plumbing facilities and its fittings for water supply in all buildings, with appropriate IPC compliant sinks and taps, inlet pipes in the sink, flushing system for some of WC toilets and shower.
· Rehabilitate and install new wastewater collection/ outlet pipes and its fittings (PN 10) for hand washing basin, bathrooms, laundries, WC and pour flush toilets for proper management and disposal.
· Rehabilitation and construction of new inspection chambers and manholes with its covers for wastewater system
· Replace and install new sewer lines and its fittings through inspection chambers to the appropriate Septic tanks, including excavation, pipe laying and backfilling and unclog the clogged sewer lines and chambers
· Supply and install granite tiles countertop for hand washing basin. 60cm width and 2cm thickness, the required total area of 6m2 to be installed on top of 2.5mmx2.5mm square pipes as per Engineer instructions
· Rehabilitate toilet wall cracks, skimming and painting for 6 wards
· Dislodge of septic tank which are full and those which are almost full, and rehabilitate septic tanks which are not in good condition

· Quote must be valid for 30 days from time of submission.
· Require vendors to provide a description of experience completing similar works within the past five years.
· Require the CV of the head engineer(s) who would be overseeing the work
· Require vendors to list of three past complete projects and the telephone number and email address of a client for each of those projects who is willing to provide a reference require vendors to have business and workers insurance.
· In terms of location, all construction works will be done at Kibondo District Hospital.
· All materials must be new and cannot be refurbished or reclaimed.
· Timeline for project completion: No later than 60 calendar days after acknowledgment of receipt of the first installment (liquidated damages of 0.5% of total contract price will apply for each business day used beyond this deadline to complete these works).
· Contractor must include a repair and defect warranty period of 3 months within their bid to cover all completed works within the RFQ
· Americares will provide no more than 20% of the full cost upon signing of the contract
· Americares staff must be present during completion of works to sign off on work
· Quote must be valid for 30 days from time of submission.

· Offers will be evaluated based on their responsiveness to the specification, qualifications and experience of the vendor, price, after sale service, delivery time and related criteria.
